About Auto Appraisal Network (formerly Classic Auto Appraiser) and Why We Changed Our Name

After experiencing phenomenal growth over the past few years (thanks in part to the Internet), one fact became obvious: the name Classic Auto Appraiser, although widely respected in the industry, limited our potential customer base.

A typical email inquiry went like this: "I have a 2006 Ford F-150 that I've spent almost a hundred thousand dollars on. It will be at this year's SEMA Show. I know it's not a classic, but I still need to get it appraised for insurance purposes. Can you guys help us?" Of course we could, and we did.

Another typical call came from a good friend who just had his '95 Impala stolen from outside a hotel. That car had over $50,000 worth of performance upgrades! Again, this car was not a classic as such, but it definitely was not factory stock, either. He needed a professional appraisal to go to battle with his insurance company, and we gave him one.

We also received tons of applications to appraise late model, customized motorcycles. Although these were not "classic" bikes, they were all "specialty vehicles," and each of those customers needed a professional appraisal for insurance or finance purposes, so we issued them one.

At the same time that we realized that our 'Classic' name might be misleading potential customers, another fact hit us in our heads. Our website was generating business from all over the nation. We were even generating business in foreign countries.

For these reasons we now needed a 'Network' of well trained, professional appraisers situated across the country: a 'Network' of our own appraisers, personally trained by us, and using our proven and well established system, including our software and our templates.

If a customer called us in Casper, Wyoming, with a '32 Ford Five Window Coupe Street Rod, we wanted the finished appraisal handed to that the owner to look identical to the finished appraisal that we would have handed to a customer in Newport Beach, California on a similar car!

All of those well known insurance companies and financial institutions that consider our appraisals to be the most professional in the business, those same companies that our customers are forwarding our appraisals to, are national companies. It just makes sense that we should go national, too!

That's why we changed the name!
