Everyone knows a classic when they see one, right? At least they know of those cars that are universally accepted classics such as Ferrari, Aston Martin, and most of the other exotics autos. So what's going to be the classic car of tomorrow? In the past the Chevrolets, Fords, Buicks, and Plymouths of 30-40 years ago were not meant to become future classics, but some of them have actually earned a spot among the Ferraris and Aston Martins at shows and classic car auctions around the world. Will any of the less collectable cars of the 1980s and 1990s make it?

The trick is to catch these collectable cars before they become a collector and sit on it until it does.

There are always trends and some staples to any car collection. But knowing what will be highly sought after in 20-30 years is a crap shoot. What I know for sure is that it will have the biggest engine offered when it was in production, most likely be a 2-door and if it was a high production car it will be a limited edition of that vehicle.

To me a collector car is a vehicle that stops depreciating, levels off or begins to appreciate over time. If it was never popular when it was in production it

Hello Tom,

Thank you very much for the excellent job you did on my ’72 Chevelle appraisal. I’m extremely impressed with your work, detail, knowledge and professionalism. I have seen many appraisal write-ups but this is the best of any of them by far.

I really appreciate everything and also the link to the cruise night, I will definitely put your name out there and have more work for you.

Best regards,
Ray

Woody,

If you don’t mind I’d like to send a copy of your report to Jose so he can see the Quality of your reports for himself.

I’m also going to contact Jerry who sent me samples of his report. While his name may add something , his actual reports look nothing like yours, they don’t even have any pictures.

I now have my car insured for the replacement value based on the replacement value assigned in your report which is very close to what I have spent on the car to date.

Thank you for your excellent, professional appraisal, even your picture surpassed my expectations. It was a pleasure to deal with you. I’ll recommend your organization to my friends without reservation.

Best regards, Mark

Dave,

We did it!

Seems all the hard work, pain, suffering, and inconvenience has paid-off – Farmers’ new offer: $17,550 + Tax, etc.

Today, I received an email settlement offer from Farmers – ACV: $17,550 (per your and Joe’s appraisal), plus tax, plus license/transfer fee, for a total of almost $19,000.

Dave, thanks again for all your counsel in this mess. It’s good to know there’re a few good people around.

Best regards,

Bill

Bobby thought he’d figured out a way to make a few bucks off a 1965 Chevelle. He’d punch out his own trim and VIN tag, throw in a 396 and some badges, and stick the car up on a popular online auction site for a quick $100,000. That’s what he did, last April. Only problem: There’s more to a Z16 than that, and the Z16 guys pay attention.

Further, whoever made the fake cowl tag copied the body # of a real Z16 (14629) from a picture!! The body numbers were not reused; each Z16 has a different body #; so your car could not have body # 14629 even if it was a real Z16.

Bobby stated in the auction that it has a 160 MPH speedometer, but in the pics I can see that it is a 120 MPH speedometer.
In fact, with homemade tags, the car was unsaleable, and as tampering with them is a felony, the only possible way to rectify the situation would have been to remove them and have the (Ohio) state DMV issue new, correct ones. Those wouldn’t have indicated it was a Z16, but it could have been a nice, $25,000 Malibu.

Eventually, Bobby wised up and after four days – four days of furious discussion among Z16 fans and numerous attempts to get him to come clean – closed the auction.

By then, however, someone had contacted the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The jig was up. On June 27, 2011, a Franklin County Grand Jury indicted Buddy, one count each of Tampering with Records; Possessing Criminal Tools; Telecommunications Fraud; and Attempted Criminal Simulation. He was looking at a possible eight years in jail. That didn’t happen. He pleaded guilty and at his sentencing on April 10, 2012, he received two years probation for a first offense, which he has to serve in West Virginia. He also gets the impounded car back (!), once it gets a VIN installed and title issued.

For all of you out there thinking of cloning a car and trying to pass it off as the real thing, let this be a lesson: the authorities do indeed pay attention and bust fraudsters when they see them.

The Franchisee Satisfaction Index (FSI)™ is the industry standard by which the health of a franchise company can be measured and tracked over time. Established by Franchise Business Review in 2007, FSI is a collective assessment of the critical areas of franchisee satisfaction and engagement.

Franchise Business Review has surveyed over 500 of today’s leading franchise brands, representing tens of thousands of franchisees. This data makes our Franchise Satisfaction Index a powerful tool for evaluating franchises, tracking operational performance and predicting future success.

FSI measures: Training & Support, Franchise Operations, Leadership, Core Values, Franchisee Community, Operator Self-Assessment, Financial Performance and General Satisfaction.

Franchisee engagement isn’t about making people feel good. It’s about achieving all of the franchise’s higher goals. Do it well and your franchise thrives. Do it poorly and it withers. As a franchise leader, you know that building franchisee consensus will put you in a position to outperform the competition. And, to achieve consensus, you need to get franchisees engaged.

Engaged franchisees participate with a passion and feel a deep connection to the franchise. They see themselves as partners and actively take ownership for the success of the franchise. Having engaged franchisees has economic benefits
